OUTSOURCING YOUR POWER
Many women are taught directly or subtly, to give their power away. To be agreeable. To wait for permission. To doubt their instincts. To look outside themselves for reassurance, approval, or direction. Over time, this conditioning disconnects women from their bodies and inner authority.
Outsourcing your power as a woman is not a flaw. It is often a learned survival response. Somatic work offers a way to gently reclaim that power by restoring safety, trust, and presence in the body.
For women, outsourcing power often appears in quiet, socially acceptable ways:
Second-guessing your intuition
Over-explaining or justifying your needs
People-pleasing to maintain harmony
Deferring decisions to partners, mentors, or authority figures
